Teaser itinerary
The wonders of Northern India
Here’s a basic one-month India itinerary following my route, keeping the pace fairly close to what I actually did. Remember that because we were a larger group, it was financially better to have our own car and driver. Public transport is available for all these places but the time from A to B may be longer.
30-Day India Itinerary

| 27 | Ranakpur → Udaipur | Visit Ranakpur Jain Temple and drive through the Aravalli Range to Udaipur |
| 28–29 | Udaipur | City Palace, Lake Pichola boat trip, Jagmandir Island Palace, markets, rooftop dinner and old-city wandering |
| 30 | Travel to Rishikesh | Fly via Delhi, then continue north |
If you can stretch it to 33–35 days
Add 3–5 nights in Rishikesh, which was an important part of my trip rather than just an add-on. Stay at a yoga retreat, do morning and afternoon yoga, visit the Beatles Ashram, walk along the Ganges, cross the suspension bridges, swim at Neer Waterfall, eat street food and spend some time doing absolutely nothing.
The route
Delhi → Varanasi → Agra → Ranthambore → Bundi → Jaipur → Sambhar Lake → Ajmer → Pushkar → Osian → Jaisalmer → Thar Desert → Jodhpur → Ranakpur → Udaipur → Delhi → Rishikesh
